Tune Time is a dealer for Westers Garage and is providing their tune for this test.
I will be using the Vector intake along with this tune. Tune Time sells IEATSRT's intake as well as the lesser quality Mac intake. If purchasing from Tune Time, be sure to step up to the higher quality IEATSRT8 intake.
Module set #1 The Westers tune came and I got it installed. It was running a little rough and shifting hard under low throttle conditions. The Short Term and Long Term fuel trims were way out of whack and it was throwing a MAF code and crank learn even though it had been relearned. I talked to Westers and he said he thought the new ECM they supplied was bad. So is sending another one.
Module set #2 The next set of modules came and I took them out and made 6 runs. The logs showed large amounts of KR (knock reduction) and what appeared to be no torque managment. I talked to Lyndon at Westers and he said let the truck run a couple days to "learn". I did this and there was no change in logs whatsoever. KR was still servere and torque management unchanged.
In talking to Lyndon and Matt it appears that Tune Time missed where I wrote in that I used BP 92 Octane fuel. So the tune I got was for something higher. He also said that he pulled fuel for torque management and not timing which is why I did not see the TM dips in the logs. When I told him that I monitored fuel as well, he then said my scan software (HPtuners) worked on a slow Baud rate and the display resolution was too low to see this TM. I disagree. As a matter of fact, Vector chimed in and so did Ken from MSD/Edge products. Between those two they comfirmed that GM uses timing for upshift torque management and that yes, I should be able to see it using HPtuners.
In a nutshell, it appears to me as well as others, there is no TM in the Wester tune.
So the modules went back to Canada and are being reworked for the Westers/Tune Time errors because of Octane.
Module set #3
The third set ran very similar to the 2nd set above. The tune "felt" good but still had significant amounts of KR even with good fuel.
Still no visible torque management either.

| 3.5 stars - Tune Time Emails often went without reply. Westers was good to reply but Tune Time was not. Phone contact was good. |
|
Does not apply. Only tune |
|
| 3 stars - Even though I bought from Tune Time the product was sent from Westers in Canada. Had to send modules back 2 times because of problems so I had 5 shipments total that took several DAYS on a couple of the occasions. |
|
3 stars - It felt really good and was strong. But both tunes he sent had knock and no signs of torque management. Not good for a daily driver. If you are not worried about blowing up, this might be the tune for you. |
